Backyard BBQ

Outdoor entertaining usually means a backyard barbecue. And while most people consider barbecue and grilling interchangable, grilling is a faster process which cooks meat over high heat. Bar-b-que is a slower process using indirect heat to cook food for a long period of time. But to all, a Barbecue is a party and one of America's greatest summer entertaining enjoyments. The food is relatively simple and the atmoshere is casual - probably what makes it such a hit with guys. And it just seems like the perfect kind of get together for all those warm weather holidays from Father's Day to Labor Day.

A few good backyard BBQ themes include:
Australian Barbie
Brazilian BBQ
Hawaiian BBQ
Wine & Cheese BBQ

Today, there are so many grilling and entertaining products on the market to make hosting any themed BBQ easier and more enjoyable. From rubs and marinades to brines and wood chips, you can enhance the flavor of your foods and add to your party theme. Keawe wood chips and a Kona coffee rub for a Hawaiian BBQ or the marinades and rubs of a Brazilian BBQ are just a few ideas of how you can bring to life the unique flavors of any culture and provide your guests an exotic escape for a few short hours.

Tableware comes in a vast array of patterns and colors to compliment any BBQ theme as well. There is no need to use paper plates any more, unless you just can't stand the thought of throwing the dishes into the dishwasher. The new designs in partyware and melanine dinnerware provides you with the sturdiness of traditional dishes but with little possibility of breakage.

When entertaining outdoors, some other unique concerns may arise that you'll want to keep in mind. Grilling can be the cause of some of these issues. Make sure that you have read and understand the manual for your grill. It will go a long way to creating a safer environment for all. The warmer weather plays a big part in food safety. Make sure that food does not sit out more than an hour. Today, you can find many dishes that use ingredients that are more warm weather friendly - made without mayo. Of course, bugs become a concern when you are out doors. Use food umbrellas or tents to keep them off the food.
